Saxophonist Yasmin Flores To Perform Recital Nov. 27

FLORENCE, Ala. - Saxophonist Yasmin Flores of the University of North Alabama Department of Music and Theatre will stage a faculty recital Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the GUC Performance Hall. Admission is free. With piano accompaniment by Jason Briley, Flores will perform select pieces by composers Paul Creston, Paul Bonneau, Max Bruch and Jacques Ibert. Also joining her on the stage for a piece will be student Bryant Sharpley on the clarinet. Flores joined the UNA faculty in 2010 as woodwinds specialist, teaching clarinet, saxophone and bassoon lessons, as well as coaching student woodwind chamber ensembles and instructing freshman music theory courses. Her wide range of musical knowledge has enabled her to perform as a soloist and chamber musician around the United States and to premiere many new works that include clarinet.
